There is a lovely beer garden attached to the bar but the flies were a bit overpowering out there. The hotel is built in a somewhat colonial style and was entirely renovated in 1999. The bar is a good size and it was very pleasant sitting here having a quiet drink, the service was excellent in the bar and you are also able to purchase alcohol here with the usual restrictions. Travellers Rest Hotel is Gorilla Tours’ own hotel located just outside Kisoro, in the extreme southwestern corner of Uganda on the borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, offering a perfect base for gorilla trekking in the area. The supermarket is very well stocked you would be able to find most necessary items here. Be Surprised Venture up the inviting Art Deco stairs to the first floor of the TRH and you will find five well appointed accommodation rooms and a function. This is a good sized complex with the servo, a supermarket, a motel and the bar and grill. The spacious rooms overlook a well groomed. There is plenty of locally brewed real ale, mouth-watering and filling food, and overnight accommodation if required. We were told when booking in not to connect to water and later found out we could but it was too late then. Travellers Rest Hotel consists of 12 en-suite rooms, tastefully decorated with a unique selection of Congo art. ![]() Accommodation is offered in 3 double rooms and 1 twin. We needn't have worried, there were a few vans coming in later in the day but there were still plenty of spots available. Travellers Rest offers comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in the small town of Prince Albert. We booked this stop ahead because we were to arrive on Good Friday and wanted to make sure we had accommodation over this usually busy period. ![]()
